Not to go all Bill Nye on you, but the science behind this color is actually pretty cool. It's pigment garment-dyed — which means the sweatshirt gets assembled first, then it's dipped in dye and washed twice. This creates a unique, faded color that makes it look vintage. Especially in the seams. It also makes it really, really soft. Which, let's be honest here, is all you're here for anyway.
We have a (dare we say) famous cotton/modal fleece we use in colder months, and we updated it to feel a little more warm-weather appropriate. It got a naturally stretchy butter-like softness, and then we pigment-garmented dyed it so it gets better with age (and the colors continue to fade the more you wear it).
